Dr. Jeremy Glissen Brown is a Gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University and Duke University Medical Center. He graduated from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University where he was inducted into the AOA Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He also received several awards during his time as a medical student, including the Thomas M. Durant Prize and the Leslie Squires Compassion in Medicine Award. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency, and Gastroenterology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard University. During his time at Beth Israel he was awarded the Elmer Hinton Award, awarded to one intern and one resident per year in recognition of outstanding physician-patient relationships at the hospital. During his fellowship, he completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and he also was on a T-32 research grant. He has published several manuscripts that have explored deep learning in gastrointestinal endoscopy and published some of the earliest prospective work looking at computer-aided detection (CADe) for polyp detection in screening and surveillance colonoscopy. His current research focus is on implementation and prospective validation of deep learning use cases across gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy as well as using technology to augment complex polypectomy and other GI procedures.
